FAQs About Gel Nail Polish

You’ve probably heard of gel nail polish, but do you know what it is? How does it compare to regular nail polish?

Regular nail polish contains a solvent that evaporates quickly, drying the polish on the nail. It can also cause the nail bed to dry out, leaving you susceptible to breaking and peeling nails.

Gel polish is more durable because it contains no solvent, which means it has a longer shelf life and doesn’t cause lasting damage to your nails.

Can You Use Gel Polish on Natural Nails?

The answer is YES. You can use gel nail polish on bare nails. You can also apply it to synthetic nails. It all depends on your preference.

To use gel polish on natural nails, rinse your hands and nails. Wipe out the prior nail polish (if any) with the help of rubbing alcohol.

Then, buff your nails for gel nail polish to have a better appearance on your nails. Push your cuticles back to prevent applying gel nail polish to them.

After you are done using gel polish, wipe off any extra nail polish on the surrounding skin with rubbing alcohol.

Can Nails Be Too Short For Gel?

The answer is NO. Nails can not be too short for applying gel nail polish. You can use gel nail polish on nails of every size.

This is because gel nail polish is applied to the nail surface. It does not need extra support from long nails. As long as you use gel nail polish carefully and correctly, it will not come off even if you have short nails.
